FELL FROM TRUCK AND WAS KILLED - JOHN GLANTZ OF LODI VICTIM OF ACCIDENT - Stockton Man Gave Him A Ride And Glantz Fell In Getting Out Of The Truck
LODI OFFICE STOCKTON RECORD, Sept 18 - John Glantz died last night from the effects of injuries received yesterday afternoon while alighting from an automobile truck near Smith's corner, at Woodbridge. Glantz had been fishing below Woodbridge and when he started home, John McAdam of 710 Maple Street, Stockton, asked the old man to ride to the corner, which would save the aged pedestrian about a half mile. In getting off the truck, just before the machine stopped, Glantz fell, striking the back of his head on the roadway and causing concussion of the brain. H. C. Loberg happened along in a Buick car, which was used to bring the injured man to Lodi. Glantz was taken to Dr. S. R. Arthur's office, where it was learned that he was suffering from concussion of the brain, and he was later removed to Dr. Buchanan's sanitarium, where he died about 9:30 p. m. without having regained consciousness. Glantz was 70 years of age. He was the father of J. P. Glantz, who lives at 525 East Locust Street. Coroner Wallace has been notified and will be here today to hold an inquest.
