OBITUARY
Mrs. E. Laufle
Mrs. E. Laufle died at her home on Division street Sunday afternoon after a brief illness of but a few days. The funeral will be held from St Augustine's church Tuesday morning at 9:30 leaving the home on the East Side at 9 o'clock. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.
Barbara Huttner was born in Watertown, Wisconsin in forty-seven years ago next February. She was married to E. Laufle June 8, 1877 and they at once came to Austin where they began housekeeping in the same place where they now reside on Division street. Their twenty-eighth wedding anniversary was celebrated last June on the date that their daughter Anna was married.
Mrs. Laufle, though she has not been in robust health for several years was in the prime of life and death seemed far off. Last Tuesday evening she took to her bed and thought her condition was not considered serious, she suffered considerably and Sunday afternoon at about 2 o'clock her condition suddenly changed for the worse and in half an hour she was dead. She leaves beside her husband, four sons and three daughters, Jo, John, Frank, Henry, Thressa, Mary and Anna, all of whom reside here. She also leaves a sister Mrs. John Ulwelling in Rose Creek and Mrs. D. McDermott in Austin beside a sister in Watertown, Wis., one in Milwaukee and one in Chicago and a brother in Watertown.
Mrs. Laufle was a true home-lover and homemaker. Her interests all centered in her children, her husband and her home. A more devoted mother could not be names. She was a member of the Lady Forresters and the Rosary Society of St. Augustines church. In her death her family loses the most devoted wife and mother, her neighbors a good friend and neighbor and all who knew her the good example of a womanly woman.
Her sister Mrs. Ullwelling of Rose Creek is here and her siter Mrs. Jo Amen of Watertown will arrive for the funeral.
The sympathy of many friends goes out to the bereaved family.
