A lifetime resident of the area, Charles G. Ray, 64, 802 Superior Street, died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday at Grove City Hospital, where he had been a patient three days. Death followed a four-year illness. Born June 7, 1901, in Liberty Township, he was a son of William and Anna Uber Ray. He married Bertha Irene Nelson, who survives. He had been a foreman for 20 years at Grove City Brass and Bronze Company, prior to his retirement. Mr. Ray was a member of Broad Street United Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Helen) Mechler, Grove City, and Mrs. Richard A. (Donna) Robson, Hickory Township; three sisters, Mrs. Bess Uber, Grove City, Mrs. Ray (Margaret) Horner, Mercer, and Mrs. Harry (Laura) Smith, Upper Saddle River, N. J.; a brother, Harry W. Ray, El Monte, Calif., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held today (Tuesday) at 2 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, with Dr. Robert T. Kelsey, Mr. Ray's pastor in charge. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
