GREAT BARRINGTON
Rev George Long Ruberg, 71, died Wednesday at his home near North Egremont, where he lived for several years. He had during his life been a Baptist clergyman, but had been retired for the past few years. He was born in Nantucket in 1829 and was the son George Ruberg and Mary [sic-Nancy] Long. His early education was received there, and in 1861 he entered the ministry. For 23 years Mr Ruberg preached in Berkshire county, principally in the towns of Sandisfield, Hancock, Hinsdale, Florida, and for six years was pastor of the Baptist chuch at North Egremont. January 6, 1852 he married Mary Abbey Starbuck, who survives him, together with two sons and two daughters. The funeral will be held to-morrow at 10 o'clock from the Baptist church at North Egremont. The burial will follow in Florida.
