ROGERSVILLE -- Adolphus "Jess" Haywood Jr., Rogersville, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999.

He was born Oct. 8, 1930, in Rochester, NY. He had been employed by TVA John Sevier Steam Plant for 36 years and had served six years in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Marks Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Prince Hall Holston Lodge #320 F&AM, Star of Zion O.E.S., Rogersville Lions Club, American Legion, VFW and was active at the Rogersville Senior Citizen's Center.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kellie Celeste Haywood; and mother, Mary Jess Brewster.

He is survived by N. Doris Haywood, Morristown; six children, Sandra Haywood, Johnson City, Bob Haywood, Kingsport, Teresa Haywood, Kingsport, Valerie Coleman, Knoxville, Karen Sensabaugh, Savannah, GA, and Jason haywood, Rogersville; seven grandchildren, Keli and Keithen Blye, R.J. Haywood, Jerris and Jade Sensabaugh, Reggie and Reece Coleman; and a son-in-law, Reggie Coleman.

Calling hours are 1 - 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Colboch-Price Chapel. Burial will follow in Mitchell Crest Cemetery.

Colboch-Price Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
