Richard ‘Rick’ Daniel Stroh, 55, died suddenly Thursday of a heart attack at his home in Fort Morgan.

Stroh was born May 10, 1948, in Fort Morgan to Daniel and Lydia Stroh. After graduating from Fort Morgan High School with the Class of 1966, he attended college in Sacramento, Calif. While attending college, he worked with his uncle, Hank Stroh, in the restaurant business.

He returned to Fort Morgan in June of 1973 and purchased the Chicken Inn. One year later his brother, Larry, joined him in the business. Rick Stroh was still operating the restaurant, now known as Stroh’s Inn, at the time of his death.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 19, and he was a 30 years member of Elks Lodge No. 1152.

Survivors include his daughter, Jolene Stroh of Fort Morgan, two sons, Rick Stroh II and Ryan Stroh, both of Fort Morgan; two sisters, Vicki Edwards of Fort Morgan and Diane Miller of Loveland, and five grandchildren, Chloe, Kabrie, Gaige, Madyson and Allyson Stroh.
