"The Racine Daily Journal", Sat., Feb 13, 1897
Philip Haas, a pioneer of Racine county, died last evening
at his home in Calidonia, being over forty-five years old. He was a man of strictest integrity, and his word was as
good as gold. Several grown up children and many friends
survive to mourn his death.
=================================================
Carving on Tombstone of PHILLIPP & ROSA HAAS:
Ihr ginget dem Tode
froh entgegen
zum Himmel wahr
Euer tetzer blick
dort Lacket Euch
des Vaters Segen
dort blühet Euch
das ewig Glück.
Translation:
They went to Their
death happily.
Toward Heaven
Their last look.
There Gods Blessings
smile upon them.
There They will live
in Eternal Happiness.
