Baby Hedlin was born on April 4, 1908 on the homestead of his parents Jennie Charlotta (Peterson) and husband Albin Karl Hedlin. He was the third of three children born to these parents, the older children being Emma (1904) and Arthur (1906).
His father, Albin was born on 8 May 1876 on the farm Hesta in Tämta, Älvsborgs Län, Väster Götland, Sweden. His mother Jennie Charlotta Peterson was born December 4, 1875 in Ben Wade Township, Pope County, Minnesota. His parents were married on January 12, 1904 in Farwell, Pope County, MN. They made their home on his homestead in Roseland Township, Burke County, North Dakota where three children were born, Emma, Arthur and Baby Hedlin who died at 3 days, April 7, 1908. Family prayer services were held at the home and he was buried in the Elmdale Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, Elmdale Township, Ward County, North Dakota. His mother, Jennie died at the farm on April 14, 1910 and she was buried in Norunga Lutheran Cemetery, Farwell, Minnesota. His father died September 18, 1983 and is buried in the Elmdale Swedish Lutheran Cemetery.
