Mary E. Gatens Cosgrove, 82, formerly of 1237 Lincoln Dr., Marion, died Sunday [October 1, 1989] in Crestview Acres Care Center [Marion] following a long illness.

She was born May 15, 1907, in Tipton, and married Joseph Cosgrove Jan. 28, 1932, in Galena, Ill. He died in 1977.

Survivors include four sons, William and Duane, both of Vinton, and Robert and David, both of Cedar rapids; three daughters, Joann Ourada of Sioux Falls, S.D., Marlene O'Rourke of Marion, and Patricia Barnett of Cedar Rapids, two sisters, Ruth Heskje of Cedar Rapids and rose wood of Caldwell, Kan.; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church by the rev. John McClean. Burial: Mount CALVARY Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 to 9 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 pm. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home where a rosary will be recited at 7 tonight. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 603 10th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, 52403.
