Anna L. "Ann" Faber, age 80, of Melrose, died peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2008 surrounded by her family at her daughter's home in St. Cloud.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Vince Lieser officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Christian Mothers, Sts. Bernard & Elizabeth Council and Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary will pray at 6 p.m. Immediately following will be prayers from the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101 and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Ann Faber was born November 27, 1927 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Elizabeth (Angelbeck) Hinnenkamp. On May 13, 1947 she married John "Johnny" Faber at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose.

Ann worked at various places in Melrose including Raeker's Grocery, Ceil's Cafe and the American Legion for 14 years. She volunteered her time with the St. Michael's Hospice in Sauk Centre, worked funeral groups at St. Mary's Catholic Church, helped with the lunch program at St. John's School in Meire Grove, organized and ran the Melrose Food Shelf for 11 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose, Christian Mothers, Sts. Bernard & Elizabeth Council, Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050 Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 101.

Ann enjoyed quilting, cooking, baking, playing cards, and most of all, playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, John "Jack" (Peg) Faber of Adrian, Judi (Ron) Rassier of St. Cloud, Joann (Gary) Schuler of Mead, CO and Jane Wolff of Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Bill (Marlene) Hinnenkamp of Melrose; and sister, Lois (Duane) Braun of Alexandria.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Bill & Elizabeth (Angelbeck) Hinnenkamp; husband, John "Johnny" Faber on June 7, 2006; brothers, Elmer and Quinten Hinnenkamp; sisters, Rita Herges, Adele Hoffman and Josephine Welle.

Casket bearers will be Brent and Brian Rassier, Zachary Faber, Jay Neunsinger, Evan Wolff and Eric Laumeyer. Cross bearer will be Michelle Muench with Jennifer Lund serving as scripture bearer.
