BUXTON, NC - William Preston Stowe, Sr., 96, of Buxton, NC died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at his residence.
Mr. Stowe, born in Hatteras, was a Commercial Fisherman and a member of the Buxton United Methodist Church.
He was the son of the late John Irven and Jeanette Stowe and was the husband of the late Lillie Gaskill Stowe.
Mr. Stowe is survived by two daughters, Eleanora McLaine of Frisco and Yvonne Austin of Hatteras; a son, William P. Stowe, Jr. of Buxton; a sister, Mabel Mead of Norfolk, VA; a brother, Berry Stowe of Norfolk, VA; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Twiford's Island Chapel, Hatteras on Sunday, December 19, 2004 at 3:00 pm with Rev. David Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Hatteras on Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Twiford's Island Chapel, Hattteras is assisting the family with arrangements.
