He married Maria Barbara Geisler on May 13, 1716 in Hoffenheim, Baden, Germany. She was born about 1695 in Hoffenheim, Baden Germany, and died before 1761 in New York County, Pennsylvania.

Johann George was a Vassal of Bishop of Speyer. He became overloaded with debts and was released from servitude to go to live with his relatives in Pennsylvania (from "Rineland Emigrants" list of German settlers in Colonial America. Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc 1985). He lived in Lancaster County, then Hanover, which was York County after 1749. After 1750, all of his sons moved to Guilford County and Alamance County, NC.
