Mrs. Conrad Faust, 83 year old pioneer resident of this city, passed away quietly in death early Tuesday evening. She had been ill for more than a year, suffering from hardening of the arteries.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1:30 p. m., from the late home on Main street, and burial will take place in Graceland cemetery. B. J. Husting, U. S. district attorney, will be the speaker.
Mrs. Conrad Faust, nee Anna Catharine Muhle, was born in Sage, Herzogtum Oldenburg, Germany, on Mar. 17, 1855. In 1868 she came to this country with her parents, two brothers, and a sister. The family first resided in Two Rivers, and then came to this city. The mother died in 1872, and two years later, the father, four children, and the grandmother went to Nebraska.
In 1876 she was married to Conrad Faust, who preceded her in death in 1907. They were the parents of three children, one daughter, Alma, preceding the mother in death.
Surviving are two children, Henry Faust and Mrs. William Hillen, of this city. Six grandchildren and two great grandchildren remain, as do a sister and four brothers. They are William Muhle, this city, Mrs. Henry Lusche, Herman Muhle, Columbus, Nebr., Frank Muhle, Leigh, Nebr. and Henry Muhle, Caron, Sask., Canada.
