OBITUARY: Beaver Dam Argus, Thursday, November 14, 1946, page 7.

Bernard Niehoff, a resident of this community for the greater part of his long life of ninety years, passed away in death at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Zahn here, at 7:30 o'clock Monday night. He had been suffering for the past six months with a complication of ailments incident to his advanced age.

The funeral services will be held at St. Peter church at 9:30 o'clock tomorrow morning with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Theodore Rohner conducting the services. The remains will be intered in St. Peter cemetery.

A son of Bernard and Louisa Niehoff, the deceased was born in Germany on June 2nd, 1856. He came to the United States at the age of eleven years and at first made his home at Mayville in this county for a few years. Since then he had resided here. He was married to Elizabeth Fuesing on February 19th, 1884, who preceded him in death in March, 1922. His second marriage was with Theresa Fischer in 1929, she having preceded him in death in 1940.

Four daughters and two sons survive him. They are Mrs. Clara Mirlach of Madison; Herman and Paula Niehoff of Beaver Dam; Mrs. James Mahoney of Jefferson; Frank Niehoff of Randolph; Mrs. George Zahn of this city with whom he made his home. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren a brother, Otto Niehoff of Horicon. A daughter preceded him in death.

Mr. Niehoff was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Peter church.
