"Monday evening at 6:20 Mrs. Barbara Bauer, of 322 Buckeye street, passed away after an illness lasting nearly six months. She was 85 years, 1 month, and 9 days old when the end came. Mrs. Barbara Bauer, nee Guenther, was born at Freudenstadt, Koenigreich Wurtemberg, Germany, January 3, 1832. Soon after she was baptized and later confirmed in the native church. February 6, 1853, she embarked for America where she located in Hamilton, Ohio. On the 3rd of September of the same year she was united in marriage with Mr. Johann Bauer, Rev. F. Groth, officiating. This union was blessed with eight children, four sons and four daughters, of whom two daughters and one son have been called by death. Mr. Bauer died six years ago last September. For sixty-four years she was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran congregation and of its Ladies' society since its organization. Her last sickness began last summer causing her much pain and many sleepless nights. The peaceful end for which she prayed so often came last Monday evening. The immediate mourners are three sons and two daughters, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral is arranged for Thursday afternoon. At the house it will be private at 2 o'clock. At the Zion church it will be at 2:30, Rev. C. F. Allwardt will officiate."
