A fire disaster which began when pyrotechnics used by rock band 'Great White' ignited the building, killing 100 patrons and burned the wood-frame nightclub to the ground within a few minutes in West Warwick, Rhode Island. No permits were issued to the nightclub for use of pyrotechnics. This was the second worst nightclub fire disaster in U.S. history.
