Clinton MO - Funeral services for William F. Tubbesing, were held December 14, 1953, at the Quarles Baptist Church. He died Dec 11, 1953. Pall bearers were nephews, Harry Tubbesing, Latour; Herman Tubbesing, Clinton; William Tubbesing, Kansas City; Garrett Tubbesing, Blairstown; Herman Sauerhagen, Colorado Springs, CO; and Herman Cordes, St. Louis, MO. Interment was in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of the Consalus Funeral Home. - William Fred Tubbesing was born Sept 15, 1875, in Franklin County, near St. Louis, one of nine children of William F. and Annie Brader Tubbesing, four sisters and one brother preceding him in death. At the age of nine he moved with his parents to Jefferson County, MO, near Cedar Hill, where he was reared and educated. On Sep 10, 1898, he married Miss Lizzie Ludemann at Hillsboro, Jefferson County, MO, and to this union 10 children were born, all of whom are living. In 1907 the family moved from near Cedar Hill, MO, to Henry County, near Quarles, where they have continued to reside. In 1948 the couple celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary. As a young lad he was confirmed in St. Martin's Evangelical Church at Dittmer, MO, in which church he retained his membership. In apparent good health, Mr. Tubbesing became ill about three weeks before his death with a heart ailment. He entered the Wetzel Hospital where he improved and had planned to return home the day following his death which occurred suddenly on Dec 11. Mr. Tubbesing was a highly valued and esteemed citizen of the community. Thrifty and industrious, he became an outstanding farmer of the neighborhood. Though of a quiet, reserved nature, he made many friends who admired his outstanding characteristics. His was a life of doing and serving, always with a willingness. He was devoted to his wife and family. For several years he served on the board of the Farmers Elevator. Survivors are nine daughters, Mrs. Emmett (Viola) Holt, Miss Mamie Tubbesing, Kansas City, MO; Mrs. W. E. (Bertha) Whittier, Seattle, WA; Mrs. James (Mary) Smith, San Bernardino, CA; Mrs. Charles (Laura) Crooks, Mrs. Allen (Tillie) Bradley, Route 1, Leeton; Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Keck, Route 2, Mrs. Dan (Lena) Ragland, 216 N. Washington, Clinton; and Miss Huldah of the home; one son, Fred Tubbesing, Blairstown; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sauerhagen, Colorado Springs, CO; and Mrs. Mary Ficken, Eureka, MO; one brother, John, Route 6, Clinton; many other relatives and a host of friends. Among those from a distance attending the funeral besides his children were: Mrs. Henry Kreamer, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cordes, Mr. and Mrs. L. W.
