John J Or Jack Otting, 87 of Waukon

John J. "Jack" Otting, 87, died Friday morning, March 3, 1995, in Northgate Care Center, Waukon, after a long illness. Services: 12:30 p.m. Monday, St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial: St. Patrick's Cemetery, Garryowen. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, where a Scripture wake service begins at 7 tonight.

Survivors include two sons, Dan of Waukon and Bill of Fulton, Mo.; two daughters, Marna Elliott of Albuquerque, N.M., and Carol Kroyer of Machias, Maine; and two sisters, Rosabella Schmit of Dubuque and Helen Laban of Bernard.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melitta, on Sept. 10, 1994; four brothers, Joseph, Ray, Leo and Henry; and six sisters, Loretta Cashman, Agnes McCarthy, Elda Takes, Anita Otting, Marie Otting and Monica Otting.

A John J. Otting Memorial Fund has been established.
