Services were 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Waldorf, the Rev. Dr. Lyle Rusert officiating. Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery, Waldorf.
Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville, and one hour before services at the church.
Mr. Degner was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Vivian Township, Waseca County, to Edward and Lydia (Jeddeloh) Degner. He graduated from Waldorf public schools in 1944. He married Marian L. Bleck Aug. 17, 1948, at Zoars Evangelical Reform Church in rural Waldorf. He began farming with his parents in Freedom Township, Waseca County. He had continued farming in Freedom Township until his death. He was a former elder of First Lutheran Church and served on the financial board. He was a longtime choir member of the church.
He is survived by his wife, one son and his wife, John and Debra of Wells, one grandson, James; two sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
