John McGraw died at his residence at Ithaca Friday, his age being sixty-two years. Mr. McGraw was not only prominent in the city where he dwelt, but well known to the public at large by interest in the endowment and maintenance of Cornell University. He contributed $150,000 to build the Central College, library and museum, and filled up to the time of his decease, the office of trustee. He was an active businessman, and owned large interests in the lumber trade both in the West and Canada. His surviving family include a wife and one daughter.
