ELIZABETH, Ill. -- Keith H. Wurm, 82, of rural Elizabeth, died Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, at Miller & Steinke Funeral Home, Scales Mound, with Pastor Barb Rapp officiating. Burial will be in the Scales Mound Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Keith was born Sept. 26, 1928, in Shullsburg, Wis., son of Herbert and Geraldine (Lyne) Wurm.
His passion in life was farming. Keith enjoyed a good game of cards and his John Deere farm equipment.
Surviving are five children, Rodney (Carol Ann) Wurm, of Scales Mound, Susan (Jim) Altfillisch, of Lena, Barbara (Jim) Stoewer, of Elizabeth, Mary (Steve) Bader, of Scales Mound, and Bradley (Diane) Wurm, of Rock City; 16 grandchildren, Angie (Chris) Koehn, William (friend, Amanda) Wurm, Melissa (Jeremy) Soppe, Jamie Altfillisch, Jeff (Jen) Altfillisch, Tracey Stoewer, Heather (Tom) Webster, Amanda Stoewer, Cari (Aaron) Miller, Kara Bader, Clint (Jessica) Bader, Brent Bader, Tyler Wurm, Nickie (Henry) Trampel, Lisa (Dan) Miller and Cheyne Anderson; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Burl Wurm, of Rockford; and his faithful companion Rusty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Glada Curwen; his second wife, Helen Mayer; sisters, Lorraine, Kathleen and Anita; his twin brother, Kenneth; and another brother, Wayne Wurm.
