Florence Frederiksen was born on the family farm May 11, 1910, in Sundown Township, Redwood County the daughter of Christian Hartwig and Mathilda (Christensen) Frederiksen. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse in District 86 and graduated from Morgan High School in 1928. Florence then graduated from the Teacher Training Department in Redwood Falls in 1929. She taught for three years in rural school District 82 near Vesta before returning to school and graduating from St. Cloud Teacher's College in 1933. Florence then returned to teaching in rural school District 92 near Morgan. She was united in marriage to Theodore 'Ted' Anderson on August 12, 1935, at the Fredsminde Lutheran Church in Brookville Township. Florence was a longtime and faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, and served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon for many years. She loved spending time with her family who meant everything to her.

Florence Anderson died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at the Springfield Medical Center Hospital at the age of 101 years.

She is survived by children- David Anderson of Springfield, Karen and husband Peter Eller of Cincinnati, OH, James and wife Susan Anderson of Springfield, and Kay and husband Delbert Pingeon of Springfield; 13 grandchildren- Lynn Anderson, Kristin Wersal, Jenny Smetana, McKenzie Anderson, Amy Moe, Sally Richert, Ted Anderson, Jane Thram, Joel Pingeon, Stephanie Friesner, Andrea Guhlke, Michael Eller, and Anne Eller; 24 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law- Marge Frederiksen of Dallas, TX, and Alvera Hirschey of Edina. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted in 1993; son Grant in 1976; brothers- Louis, Elmer, Andrew, Richard, Allen, Harry and Raymond; and sisters- Pearl Frederiksen Johnson, Ethel Frederiksen, and Alice Frederiksen Schultz.
