Walfred farmed his father's acreage in Oakport Township. He died of a heart attack while riding his binder in Oakport Township. He married Sophia Henrdrickson on 27 Mar 1921 in MN. She later remarried a man by the name of Schwartz. Children - Infant daughter, Adeline (Nelson) Woods. Sister - Emma, brother - Arthur Gustave. Arthur is buried in Prairie Home Cemetery in Moorhead with his first wife, Charlotte Grothe. His second wife is Dena Hendrickson.

As a young man, Walfred was active in the military and was a member of the Oak Mound Farmers Club, a local agricultural community club. He was secretary of the Oak Mound Parent-Teacher Association. Walfred and his family were members of the Oak Mound Congregational Church.

Rev. C. T. Brewster will officiate and burial will be in Oak Mound cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Hendrickson of Kindred, Albin Hendrickson of Minneapolis, John Hanson, Sig Hendrickson and Martin Hendrickson of Fargo and Earl Cota of Morris, Minn.

OAKPORT FARMER DIED SUDDENLY WEDNESDAY WHILE WORKING.

Funeral services for Walfred Nelson, 44, of Oakport, who died suddenly Wednesday while operating a binder at his farm, will held Sunday at 2:30 p. m. Oak Mound Congregational church with Rev. C. T. Brewster officiating. Interment will be in Oak Mound cemetery. Death was caused by embolism.

Mr. Nelson was born in Moorhead July 6, 1894, and had lived in the vicinity all his life. He is survived by his wife, the farmer Sophia Hendrickson, a daughter, Adeline Vivian, 13; a sister, Mrs. Earl Endersbe, and a brother, Arthur G. Nelson, both of Fargo.

The body will lie at the Hanson funeral home in Fargo until time of services. Pallbearers at the services will be Fred Hendrickson, Kindred; Albin Hendrickson, Minneapolis; John Hanson, Sig Hendrickson and Martin Hendrickson, Fargo, and Earl Cota, Morris.
