Lloyd D. "L.D." Farmer, 76, of 413 E. 23rd St., Owensboro, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at his home. He was born in Daviess County, was an Army veteran of World War II, 88th Infantry, and was employed by Owensboro Forging Co. and Murphy Miller. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 696. He enjoyed hunting game, fishing and trap shooting. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Angela L. Rhinerson Farmer; two daughters, Dianne Reynolds of Owensboro and Gayla Maria Stevens of Utica; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy Glenward Farmer of Henderson, Lowell Allan Farmer of San Antonio and James Farmer of Owensboro; two sisters, Jean Bivens of Owensboro and Mary Ann Frost of Caldwell, Idaho; and several nephews and nieces. Services are at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Owensboro. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:30 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Daniel Pitino Shelter, 501 Walnut St., Owensboro, KY 42301. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
