He was born in Oldenburg, Franklin county, September 22, 1846, making him at the time of death sixty-three years and two days of age. He married Miss Mary Tappe also of Oldenburg, who survives his sad demise. He removed to Shelby county in 1871, and has since resided in Liberty township.
In addition to the widow, he is survived by five children; Mrs. Mary Krug, of Chattanooga, Ten,; Mrs. Josephine Zinser, of Liberty township; Miss Agness, and Frederick and John Fischer, who live at home.
Funeral services will be held at St. Vincent's church, Monday morning at nine o'clock, at which time Father Ketter will say solemn high mass. The interment will be in the St. Vincent cemetery, M. G. Tindall in charge. (Obit: The Shelbyville Democrat, Sep. 24, 1909)
