Mr. Fischer, ill several months, died Thursday at 6:45 a.m. in Rush County Memorial Hospital. He had been hospitalized one week. A retired farmer Mr. Fischer was a member of St. Vincent Church.
Born in Shelby County April 2, 1884, the son of Henry and Mary Catherine (Tibbe) Fischer, he married Pearl Braunagel Feb. 14, 1917. She died Oct. 19, 1968.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Mary Catherine) Mammoser, Chicago, Mrs. Bill (Berneice) McClintock, Anderson, and Mrs. Don (Lois) Durbin, Rushville; two sons, John H. Fischer Jr., R. R. 5, Shelbyville, and Raymond Fischer, R. R. 1, Waldron, and seven grandchildren. A daughter died in infancy. Mr. Fischer was the last surviving member of a family of five.
