Thanks to Edward Cassidy, Isle of Man, grandson of George and Rachael for the following:

George Cassidy and his wife Rachael, emigrated to Canada in 1922, then to the USA in 1922 on the ship 'The Pittsburg' which arrived in New York, USA 12 December 1922. They took two of their children, Violet and Ivy, with them. Their other two children, Dorothy and Edward, stayed in the UK. (Edward would eventually go to Canada in 1927). George and Rachael settled in Ocean City, New Jersey. Dorothy eventually married Ralph L Lamont (who came from Pennsylvania) in London in 1920. They moved to New Jersey to live at 343 Bay Ave., Ocean City, New Jersey.

George Cassidy died in Ocean City 28 February 1948 a naturalized citizen of the USA. Racheal died 4 May 1952 also in Ocean City.

Ocean City, NJ – George Cassidy. The funeral of George Cassidy, 82, of 308 Bay Avenue, will be held on Wednesday. For many years Cassidy was employed at the local lumber company operated by former mayor Joseph G Champion. Later he worked for 12 years at the local National Bank. He retired 6 years ago. A native of England, he died on Friday at his home here.
