Agnes "Aggie" Van Buren, 74, of Waupun, died on Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the Christian Home, Waupun, where she had been a resident for the past year.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, at 10:30 a.m., at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. Rich Bawinkel will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Cemetery.

Mrs. Van Buren was born on Jan. 10, 1927, in Waupun, the daughter of Cornelius and Hattie (Loomans) Visser. She was married on Feb. 18, 1948, to Glenn Van Buren in Waupun.

Mrs. Van Buren was a 1945 graduate of Waupun High School. She and her husband lived in Waupun all their married life. She nurtured their sons through their early years, then became employed by the Christian Home in Waupun, in food service for 19 years.

She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun, where she was active in its music programs, Sunday school and Ladies Guild. In her retirement years she volunteered her services to Marsh Haven Nature Center and Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn Van Buren, Waupun; two sons, Rev. Michael (Noreen) Van Buren, West Olive, Mich., and Scott (Deb) Van Buren, Waupun; four grandchildren, Carlia (Jamison) Schippers, and Bradley, Kirk and Nicole Van Buren; two brothers, Arnold (Grace) Visser, and Roland (Sylvia) Visser, both of Waupun; two sisters-in-law, Marie Visser, and Bernice Visser, both of Waupun; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Clifford, John, and Harold Visser.

Friends may call on Friday, April 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and on Saturday, April 28, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun.
