Ackley World Journal, Oct. 22, 1936:
Mrs. Anna Keninger, in her 80th year, died at the family home in Ackley, Tuesday morning, following an illness of two months; this in connection with an accident that befel her three weeks ago, which resulted in a broken hip. Because of the nature of her illness and her advanced years, little hope of her recovery was entertained from the time that she sustained the injury.
Born in the city of Philadelphia, Pa., August 28, 1858, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oppold; the family located near Freeport, Illinois, and it was there that she was united in marriage to Joseph Keninger; he died Sept. 6, 1911. They had lived in south Franklin county, and it was there that their children were born. Mrs. Keninger had lived in Ackley twenty-six years. Surviving members of the family are: Mrs. Al. Hofmann, Mrs. Henry Homan, Ackley; Mrs. J. Hensing, Iowa Falls; two sons, Ed, this city, and Frank, west of Ackley. Other survivors are a brother, John Oppold, near Sioux Falls, S.D., three sisters, Mrs. Rose Wall, Mrs. George Hively, Freeport, Ill., Mrs. Frank Hensing, Iowa Falls.
Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) forenoon at St. Mary's Catholic church.

Married Joseph Keninger at Freeport, Ill. in 1881.
