Mr. and Mrs. August Poser, grand old couple of Homestead township, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary next Tuesday. Mr. Poser is 86 and his wife is 85. Their marriage took place in Leipzig, Germany on February 15, 1879 and they came to this country during the same year. They settled in Milwaukee and resided there for three years before coming westward to this community, where they filed a homestead. They have lived here ever since. In Germany Mr. Poser was a cabinet maker, a profession which he has only followed as a hobby after turning his efforts to farming and agriculture.
The Posers are the parents of ten children, all of whom are living.

Mrs. Agnes Poser
Dies at Age 96
Mrs. Agnes Poser, oldest resident of this immediate community, passed away at the Wesley hospital in Wadena after having been ill for the past few weeks.
Mrs. Poser was born in Germany on April 22, 1858, and at the time of her passing was 96 years, nine months and 13 days of age. She had come to the United States, Milwaukee, Wis., in 1881 and in 1885 she came to this community, settling in Homestead township which has been her home ever since.
Mr. August Poser, her husband, preceded her in death in 1945. She is survived by two sons and four daughters. A complete obituary of Mrs. Poser will appear in next week's issue of the Herald.
Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at the Congregational Church in New York Mills. The Rev. Theoph. Meckel officiated and interment was made in Greenwood cemetery. The Kampsula Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
