As per Biographical History of LaCrosse, Trempealeau and Buffalo Co's 1892, Peter's in-laws were born in Splugen Switzerland and crossed the ocean in 1854, being 51 days enroute. They lived one year in Dubuque, IA, and in 1855 came to this county and settled in Dutch Creek Valley in Bangor Twsp. The father died in 1875. There were 15 children, 12 now living.
