Olympic Bronze Medalist. He won the bronze medal in Tandem Cycling (with Karl Köther) in Amsterdam in 1928. Originally, his team would have had a walkover in the semifinals, as the Dutch team fell, but the Dutch were allowed a restart. He also finished fourth in the solo Men's Sprint competition at the same Olympics. He was also the 1928 German Sprint Champion. Served with the 205-Luftw.Bau.Kp.2/See. Originally buried Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats, Amsterdam, and reburied between 15/10/1947 and 22/03/1948 in Ysselsteyn.
