Last Rites For Mrs. Wilberding

Wife Of Well-Known Remsen Business Man Taken By Death

Last rites were held Monday morning in St. Mary's church at Remsen for Mrs. Joseph C. Wilberding of Remsen and her infant son, Louis Martin. The mother died at the Sacred Heart hospital in giving birth to the infant, who survived his birth only a few minutes.

Mrs. Joseph C. Wilberding was born at Dyersville, Iowa, October 27, 1888. Her maiden name was Celia Meyer (Mier). She spent her early life in Dyersville. She was united in marriage with Jos. C. Wilberding of Remsen January 16, 1912, and following their marriage made their home there. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and eleven children. One child, Rosemary, died in infancy aged four days. The children are: Emil, Vincent, Hildegard, Armella and Adella, twins, Joseph, Elizabeth, Julian, Edwin, Mary Agnes and Margaret. She also leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clemens Meyer of Dyersville, three brothers, Charles, Leo and Lawrence Meyer; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Langel and Misses Hilda and Melinda Meyer, all of Dyersville.

Pallbearers were John Schneiders, Andrew Sonsma, Nick Niggling, Chas. Billmyer, Joseph Bunkers and John Ortman. Flower bearers were Bernadette Wilberding, Helen Wilberding, Mary Margaret Clark, Dorothy and Eleanor Rupp and Elva Delperdang, all nieces of the deceased.

Mrs. Wilberding was a member of the Christian Mothers society and the members attended in a body.

The death of Mrs. Wilberding comes as a severe blow to her husband and children, as well as to her many friends and relatives. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and her duties as a homemaker superseded all other interests in her life. Her pleasant personality and cheerfulness made her a friend to all who came in contact with her.

Among those attending the funeral were her father, Clemens Meyer, and brothers Leo and Lawrence, and sisters, Mrs. Josephine Langel and Miss Hilda Meyer, and an aunt, Mrs. Louis Meyer, all of Dyersville; Charles Wilberding of Wilmont, Minn.; Anthony Wilberding and family of Haverhill, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Rupp, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rupp and Mr. and Mrs. S.M. Clarkall of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Will Schinder and baby, of Iona, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Val Schindlor, an uncle, of LeMars; and cousins, Louis Meyer and family, Sam Mack and family, and Joe Langel and family, all of LeMars and Henry Meyer and family of Granville.
