Philippine was the daughter of Jacob Eckel and Maria Christina Korn. She was first married to Johann Adam Saur on 16 Jan 1869 in New Berlin, Waukesha, Wisconsin. They were the parents of six known children - Johannes J., Heinrich Adam, Jacob, Adam, Minnie, and Christine Regina.
