She was born on Nov. 13, 1907 in the Town of Herman, a daughter of the late Frederick and Sophia Fasse Stuckmann. She attended Pine Hurst School and Mission House Academy. She was married June 8, 1929 to August "Gus" Hammann at Immanuel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman. The couple lived in the Milwaukee area until 1934, when they moved to Elkhart Lake and started the Cal and Gus Service Station. She and her husband added the Oriole Bus Lines to their business in 1956, which they operated until retiring, and selling the business to their sons.
Ruth was a member of Community United Church of Christ In Elkhart Lake and was an active member of its Dorcas Circle and had served as its treasurer for many years.
In retirement, Ruth was actively involved in organizing numerous senior Citizen bus tours out of Elkhart Lake and Plymouth and was a member and past president of the Elkhart Lake Senior Citizens organization.
Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1985.
Survivors include one daughter; Mrs. Ruth (Al) Naccarato. Seattle, Wash.; three sons, Frederick (Dorien) and Robert (Marilyn), both of Crystal Lake; Richard (Karen), Franksville; Wis.; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an, infant sister, Ida; and two brothers, Calvin and Herman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday evening, March 16, at 7 p.m., at Community United Church of Christ in Elkhart Lake. The Rev. Lance Lackore, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Immanuel United Church of Christ Cemetery in the Town of Herman. Friends may call at the CHURCH in Elkhart Lake, from 3 p.m., on Thursday, until the hour of services. A memorial service will be established in Mrs. Hammann's name. - The Wittkopp Funeral Home is serving the family.
