Martha "Granny", 92, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Mathias and Elizabeth (Klein) Miller.
She married Ernest Boog, Jr. on May 1st, 1946.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Joan) Boog, Patrick Boog, Roger (Laurie) Boog, Donald (Patricia) Boog, Maureen (Donald) Dunham, Gregory (Delane) Boog, Timothy Boog, and Janine (Rick) Washburn; her dear sister, Julia (Sr. Jeanette Miller CSJ); brothers-in-law, Stanley Boog, Harold Boog, Carl (Ada) Boog, Michael (Marjorie) Boog; sister-in-law, Betty (Robert) Martin; special friend and cousin, Lucille Cook; and special neighbor, Marcella Blose.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ernest Boog, Jr.; brothers, Fr. Aloysious Miller, Fr. Martin Miller; sisters, Helen (Sr. Marianne Miller CSJ), Eleanora Miller, Lillian Miller, Edna (Arthur) Griffith, Rita (Roman) Simon; brothers-in-law, Robert (Betty) Boog, Dale (Cathy) Boog; sister-in-law, Doris Boog; and grandchild, Chad Henderson. She was much loved by her 21 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Martha lived a simple, faith-filled life grounded in her family, who were her most precious treasures. Strong and independent, she lived all but her final three weeks in the same house in which she began her marriage. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Mass was Friday, September 16, 2011 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein officiating. A Vigil service
was held at the Tiffany Funeral Home.
