Fred's German name was Georg Friedrich; it got changed to Fredrick in America & mostly he went by Fred; never did find what the "K" stood for, but he used it in his name frequently.

He didn't marry his 2nd wife, Mrs. Katie Becker (25294297), until Nov 8, 1915, in Russell, Co. She is buried with her 1st husband & still haven't figured out what her maiden name was.

He then married his 3rd wife, Lena Boxberger Nuss (62006391), Oct. 19, 1928; Lena is also buried with her 1st husband. This came from Lena's obituary.

His obituary from Janet Flickenger is in my files, it reads;
Fred K. Steinert died here last night (July 19, 1948). Mr. Steinert was born Oct. 16, 1862, in Russia and came to this country at an early age. After moving to this county, he spent virtually all of the remainder of his life in and around Russell.
He is survived by the following six children: Sieg K. Steinert, Fred K. Steinert, and Mrs. George Tittel, all of the Russell vicinity; Mrs. Fred Niedens who lives north of Hoisington; Ben K. Steinert of Gt. Bend, and Dave Steinert, who lives near Galatia. His wife passed away three years ago in May.
Services July 21 at the Deines Bro. Funeral Home and later at American Lutheran Church in Milberger, with Rev. C. Landdeck officiating. Burial in Milberger Cemetery.
