Eloise Sophie Haegelin Mechler

Eloise Sophie Haegelin Mechler, age 87, of Western Bexar County, TX was born December 10, 1925 in Rio Medina, to Joseph Frank Haegelin and Hulda Haby Haegelin. She passed away May 27, 2013 in Castroville, TX.
Eloise was preceded in death by both parents, the mother that raised her, Amanda Wurzbach Haegelin, her beloved husband Leon Robert Mechler, and brother Harley Haegelin. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother.
She was a homemaker and worked the farm and cattle with her husband. Eloise was a wonderful lady, with so many loving qualities, and she will be missed by all. She had so many friends and she never met a stranger. She loved her family, friends, plants, card games, and her Spurs. We will treasure our time with her and our memories forever.
Eloise and Leon married in 1947, and had 63 loving years together, before he went to be with the Lord in October 2010.
Survivors include her sons, Bob Mechler and his wife Connie Daily of Pine, Colorado, Lindy Mechler and his wife Rita of Western Bexar County, TX, Gary Mechler and his wife Cindy of College Station, TX, and daughter Laurie Mechler and her husband Michael Brown of Keller, TX; brother and sister-in-law Winfred and Ana Mae Haegelin of Rio Medina, TX, TX sister-in-law Doris Schuchart of Rio Medina, TX; grandchildren and spouses Shelly (Norm) Galyon, Natalie Mechler, Cassie (Chris) Conger, Courtney (Jake) Poulsen, Chelsea Mechler; as well as great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, special lifelong friend Adeline Weiblen, nieces and nephews, and her family at Le Parc Safe Haven.
The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Cleary on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.
