After a 5 year battle with cancer and life-long renal disease, Joanne passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE surrounded by her family.
Born in Wilmington, DE on July 20, 1956, she was the third child of a family of 10 to loving parents Aleseo (Ben) and Nancy Baffone. Married to Phillip Hruska for 35 years, she wedded on October 2, 1976.
The focus of her life was her family.
Precious minutes at Bethany Beach surrounded by family and friends brought her much joy. She will be remembered for her spunk, strength and relentless determination to live a full and cheerful life.
Proud to be part of a large family, she is survived by husband Philip, daughter and son-in-law, Alesha Hruska Snyder & Jared Snyder, son Vincent Hruska, mother and father-in-law Charles and Betty Hruska, 9 brothers and sisters and 18 in-laws: Kathleen Baffone and Chris Kennedy, Gregory and Kathleen Baffone, Aleseo (Lee) and Kathleen Baffone, Judith and Daniel DiFrancesco, Nancy and Tom LaPorte, Clare Serio and Dennis LePere, Marie and Jeff McLearie, Anthony and Jena Baffone and Vincent and Stephanie Baffone, Steve and Jane Hruska, Kenny and Sandy Hruska, Carol West, Karen and Danny Pappa and Eileen and George Watson, Godchildren Danny DiFrancesco and Nichole Baffone, 32 nieces and nephews, and 9 great nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 17, at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark, DE with Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, from 2 to 6 pm at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, DE.
