Vera Irene Schnittger and Eldon Hurlburt Wed
Before an altar decorated with baskets of gladioli and garden flowers and lighted tapers, Vera Irene Schnittger became the bride of Eldon Hurlburt at the Dolliver Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon. Rev. C.L. Day of Fostoria read the double ring service. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schnittger, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white satin gown and fingertip veil and carried a bouquet of red roses with white streamers. Her attendants wore blue and yellow floor length gowns and carried aster bouquets. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Hurlburt, and his attendants wore dark suits and white boutonnieres.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the church annex. Decorations were in blue, yellow and white. The bride's table was centered with a three tier wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and groom.

The young couple will live in Mankato where Mr. Hurlburt attends Mankato Business College. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, September 18, 1947)
