Christian Welsch, Sr., 70, of 1711 Eleventh avenue. Scottsbluff died at a Scottsbluff hospital Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Welsch, who was born Dec. 7, 1882 at Niedtermunegu, Russia, came to the United States with Mrs. Welsch in 1913. He was married Feb. 2, 1909 to Beada Scharf in Russia. She died in February 1944. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff.
Survivors include four daughters. Mrs. Helen (John) Schaaf, Mrs. Esther (LuVerne)Herbel and Elsie Welsch of Scottsbluff, and Mrs. Pauline (George)Rohrbeck of San Diego, Calif., five sons, Chris, Jr.(Katherine), and Walter (Molly) of Gering.
