Emily Burd, 86, of South Point, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday February 21, 2007 in Heartland of Riverview. Emily was born February 6, 1921 in Pinch, WV, the daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Monday Cyrus.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Darwin Burd, and two sisters Georgia Henderson and Lenora Blake.

Emily was a long time resident of Lawrence County, Ohio, where she raised a family with her husband Darwin, whom she married May 7, 1948. Emily faithfully attended Getaway United Methodist Church and was active in the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department Auxillary.

Emily leaves behind
two sisters Edith Williams of Proctorville and Marion Hayes of Scottown;
three sons Paul E. (Valerie) Burd of Yorkville, Illinois; David L. (Chela) Burd of Pedro, Ohio; and Walter L. (Barb) Burd of Loudonville, Ohio;
four daughters Juanita (Dan) Thompson of Scottown; Alice (Bryan) Murnahan of Alachua, Florida; Phyllis Burd of South Point, Ohio; and Donna (Stephen) Williams of South Point.
12 grandchildren
six great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was conducted at Hall Funeral Home by Rev. John Carter and Rev. Don Carter. Burial was in Miller Memorial Gardens.
