Eleanor Lucas, 82, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Sunday at her home in Dyersville.
Eleanor Meyer was born in Dyersville in 1899. She was married to Ray Lucas in 1954 at Dyersville. She later moved to Cedar Rapids, where Mr. Lucas died in 1964. Mrs. Lucas moved back to Dyersville after her husband's death.
She was a retired telephone operator with General Telephone at Dyersville, where she also worked for Glover's Factory.
Mrs. Lucas was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier at Dyersville.
Survivors include 19 nieces and nephews.
Services: 12:30 pm Wednesday at the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier, Dyersville. Burial: church cemetery. A parish Scripture service will be held at 8 tonight at Kramer's, where friends may call after 3 pm today.
