COUNTYANS ATTEND THE BACH FUNERAL
Relatives and friends from this county returned home Thursday from Cedar Falls, Ia. where on Wednesday afternoon they attended the funeral of Miss Mina Bach, 80, a retired deaconess of the Evangelical United Brethren church, who died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 11.
Miss Bach, who was formerly of this area, was born Feb. 12, 1873, in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 13 years with her mother, Mrs. Dorothea Bach, and a brother and sister. The family located in this area.
At the age of 21, Miss Bach went into the deaconess work of the Evangelical United Brethren church in Kansas City where she served for a number of years before going to Los Angeles, Calif., and later to Racine, Wis. She served as matron of the Evangelical Nursing home in Chicago for a number of years before she retired Sept. 1, 1943, and entered the Western Old People's home at Cedar Falls.
Relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Tobe Lollman, Verdon; Mrs. Albert Gerweck, Mrs. Martha Wist, Mrs. Minnie Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Strecker, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Wist and Clarence Wist, all of Falls City. Mrs. Lizzie Apel of Falls City also attended.
