Hermena Boeckmann Dowell, 77, of Greenview, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on November 16, 1933 in Lincoln, Illinois to Henry and Wilhelmina (Tholen) Boeckmann.
She is survived by her son, Travis (Heidi) Dowell of Williamsville; brother, Robert (Donna) Boeckmann of Cantrall; sister-in-law, Joyce Mildred of Bloomington; two nieces, Julie Kelly and Beth Ann McLawnhorn; one nephew, Eric Boeckmann; and two grandchildren, Mariah and Sydney Dowell.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Hermann Boeckmann.
Hermena worked as a bookkeeper for Greenview High School for 35 years. She was a member of Greenview Christian Church and AMVETS ladies auxillary.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Greenview Christian Church with Rev. Blake Canterbury and Rev. Mike Pennell officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview.
