Andrew Clement Rolfes, 66, of rural Le Mars, IA, died Thursday, March 2, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

A Mass was held on Monday morning, March 6, 1995, at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, the Reverend Richard Rics officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

He was born September 20, 1928, in Union Township, rural Le Mars, the son of Bernard and Caroline (Ruether) Rolfes. He grew up in the Le Mars area and attended Catholic school there. He worked as a truck driver for Charlson Produce and Pillcy's Produce for a number of years, and then worked for Sioux Tools in Le Mars from 1956 until his retirement in 1982. He also helped Leonard Molzen farm for over 20 years. He enjoyed working on antique tractors and collected miniature toy tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Le Mars; four sons, Richard and his wife Janice, Kevin "Cubby", and Bill, all of Le Mars, and Tom and his wife Ruth of Decorah, IA:three daughters, Jeanette and her husband Dan Dembinski, and
Cindy and her husband, Arlin Van Der Weide, all of Le Mars, and Carol Rolfes of Hawarden, IA; 12grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five brothers, Arnold and his wife Mary of Maurice, IA, Lester of Hinion, 1A, Leonard and his wife Colleen of Craig, IA, and Bernard and his wife Ann and
Lawrence and his special friend Sue Krentz, all of Le Mars; a sister, Sr. Dorothy Rolfes of Dubuque, 1A; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Rolfes of Luverne, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Elmer; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Rolfes.
