He was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Melrose, Minn., the son of Herman and Dorothy (Nienaber) Herzog. Werner was an electrical welder, worked for Malton Electric and was the co-owner of Willow Manufacturing until his retirement. He was a member of the IBEW Local 294 Electrical Union for more than 50 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and painting pictures of nature's landscapes.
Werner is survived by his very special friend of 30 years, Jane Micklich of Virginia and her children and grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Delores) Herzog of Ham Lake, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Herzog of Virginia and Verla Herzog of Melrose, Minn.; 14 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer, Reynold, Arnold and Herbert; sisters-in-law, Genny and Myrtle; nephew, Steve Herzog; and great-niece, Mandy Herzog.
