When Elizabeth was 9 months old, her parents, Ethel (Etta) and David Gordon, left Lithuania with her, traveled across Germany and sailed from Hamburg to Scotland. (However the 1930 census states that Elizabeth was born in Scotland.)
From 1895 to 1903 they lived in Glasgow, where her siblings, Sara and Phil, were born.
In 1903 they left Glasgow for the U.S., sponsored by Uncle Abraham Sisco(vick) who had arrived in 1897. In 1903 Elizabeth met 2nd cousin Samuel Sisco upon arrival in U.S. - Baltimore, MD. Six years later Elizabeth (15) and Samuel (21) were married (1910). Leonard was born 1914, Julian was born in 1917 and Bernard (Bud) was born in 1926.
Samuel and his family moved to Washington D.C. in 1919 where he operated a custom tailoring business on Capitol Hill 1919-1923, and owned a restaurant 1923 to 1925. He owned a tailor shop and cleaners 1925 to 1933. Samuel died September 10, 1933. Elizabeth and sons Leonard and Julian ran the business, but sold it in 1934.
Elizabeth, Julian and Bud moved to Baltimore, and lived with her mother, Etta, 1934-1936. Leonard remained in DC to work. Elizabeth, Leonard, Julian and Bud moved to Georgetown in 1936. Elizabeth managed a dress shop in Georgetown. In 1939 Elizabeth, Bud and Julian moved to Columbia Road - Elizabeth managed a dress shop on 14th Street.
