Joseph A. Mayhew, 83, of Bucks Bayou Road in Bay City died near his home May 2 1977. He was born March 6, 1894 in Ecru, Mississippi.
Survivors include his widow, Peggy Mayhew of Bay City, sons, Ralph Mayhew of Bay City and Dallas Moody Mayhew of Yuma, Arizona; 6 grand children and four great-grand children.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 1977 at Bay City Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM with the Rev. Chester Sassman of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna. Pallbearers are Earl Icenogle, Gene Smith, J.C. Byrd, Calvin Holton, Bunyon Thompson and Frank Hattenbach. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Thedford, Simon McCloud, Bob Adams, Doc Moody, T.J. Jones, Otis Knoblock, Maurice Grover and Sam Allen.
