Monroe, Wis., Jan. 16.—Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 in Shriner funeral home for August Gutzmer, 83, who died Sunday in a Monroe hospital. Rev. Paul C. Kehle, pastor of St. John's Evangelical church, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Mr. Gutzmer was bom in Germany Nov. 12, 1856, the son of William and Minnie Wieman Gutzmer. He came to America in 1881, settling in Jordan township. His marriage to Marie Hein occurred in 1882 in Monroe and they resided on a farm in Jordan township 32 years. They moved to Monroe in 1912. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical church. Surviving are the widow; five sons, Charles, Cadiz township, Gustave, Stockton,Ill., Reinhold, Monroe, Edward, Jordan, and August Jr. Clarno; two daughters, Mrs. H. S. Archibald, Monroe, and Mrs. Frank Kent, Warren; one sister, Mrs. Gottfried Butts, Woodford; 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were one son, Frank, in 1920. One brother. William, Nashua, Ia.; two sisters. Mrs. Amelia Butts, Woodford, Mrs. Carl Fielter, Bloomfield, Neb.
